Sunday Evenings This Fall
Bread and Belonging
Bread and Belonging is a weekly gathering where we share a meal (almost always home cooked), talk with each other about things that matter, and build community. We meet every Sunday of the school year from 5:30 to 7:30 at Grace University Lutheran Church. This semester we’ll be talking about baptism and all the good things that come with it; including (but not limited to!) our baptismal call to be good neighbors and do meaningful work in this world (Lutherans call this vocation), what baptism is and means, the bible stories used in the Rite of Baptism, and ways we can protect the water of this world that Jesus, Martin Luther and people throughout time have named as sacred. First session will be Sept 13th.
What Happens at Sunday Morning Worship?
Here is what you can expect:
Worship with us, sharing in word and sacrament, on Sunday mornings at 8:30 and 10:30. Students are a vital part of the intergenerational ministries of both Grace University Lutheran Church (Stadium Village) and University Lutheran Church of Hope (Dinkytown). If you’d like to be a reader, usher, or help out in any other way, please let us know. If you haven't been to a Lutheran church before, you can trust the service will be:
- Easy to follow
- Honest and unpretentious
- Welcoming, with Communion open to all and affirming LGBT rights
